Overall Purpose of Job:This should be a broad overview of the position. Include overall scope of position and adescription of authority the position has for programs/projects/operations andestablishing policies.Development ofvehicle products under consideration of the customer preconditions, the ITW,legal and environmental requirements in cooperation with the Program Managementand the Engineering Management. He/she should provide the highest level ofexpertise to create the best engineering solution for customer and to implementnew developments into the plant facility. He/she is held accountable for theengineering objectives in terms of cost, quality and time planning.Major Responsibilities:List major areas of responsibilities and accountabilities of theposition. Where appropriate, includequantifiable data that describes theoverall financial report of the position to the organization (e.g. annual salesvolume, annual purchase amount, number of employees and/or annual budget).Responsible to provide technical solution to customer for new productapplication by using CAD system and technical presentation in Pre-Involve andQuotation phase;Responsible to work with account managers and quotation team toacquire new business from customer with competitive technical solution(Product, Tooling, Assembly etc.) in Quotation phase;Responsible to create and maintain BOM, DFMEA, Design ValidationPlan and Advanced Engineering Quality Plan to ensure engineering developmentquality meet ITW and company requirements.Responsible to coordinate and oversees, using internal andexternal resources, in the design, build, assembly and testing of prototypeproducts, working from customer specifications and requirements;Responsible to design the air registers, and other plasticinterior auto components from the scratch by using CATIA or UG software.Responsible to analyze product design validation results andfailure root cause, to develop corrective actions as suggested by testingresults.Responsible to ensure project key engineering document andinformation is properly input in system;Responsible to evaluates existing parts and bookshelf technologyfor use and adaptation in new applications, including different materials andfinishes;Responsible to consult with internal and customer engineeringstaff and other pertinent technical support personnel on complex and uniqueproblems;Responsible to handle of engineering concessions and changesrequests (ECRs ).Responsible to ensures compliance with customer specs andpolicies using ITW policies and procedures including APQP, and IATF 16949;Support to generate engineering cost estimate figures;Support to set up validation and testing procedures;Support plant operation team in product and processvalidation results analysis, and quality issues analysis in serial production withproper engineering solutions;Support core development engineering to analyze products andtechnology in market with engineering benchmarking activities;Key Competencies:Critical skills,abilities and characteristics necessary to perform job responsibilities.(please refer to development & selection for full details of competency models for all majorITW job functions )Verygood Technical EducationKnowhow in plastics material, Knowledge of plastics-oriented constructionKnowledgeof mold making and/or injection moldingCADbasis Know how (CATIA V5)Good knowledgeof IT-systems (Microsoft Office) and presentation techniquesAbilityto familiarize oneself with new tasks Targetedand result oriented working Goodcommunication skills, team orientedGoodEnglish languageWillingnessto travel, Resilience Flexibleto fit changing environment.Education and Experience:Indicate the minimum level of educationand experience necessary to perform the position. Requirestechnical problem-solving skills, creativity, adaptability, flexibility andhigh energy level. Welldeveloped interpersonal and communication skills are also required. MSoffice Knowledgeof DFMEA, FMEA, Design to costBasicKnowledge in project management requiredMakingand controlling drawings, knowledgeable in GD & T Engineeringmanual and related standardsKnowledgeof quality controlKnowledgeof 6 Sigma, DFA, DFM and GDPIM will be preferredKnowledge for FEA, CFD, Mold flow analysis will bea plusExperience in leading a engineering team will be aplus too.
